When Should I Turn to a Mental Health Counsellor?

If any of the following applies to you, then you certainly have one or more reasons to reach out to a specialist, in order to begin your personal journey into the wonderful world of self-awareness:

These are just a few of the reasons you might begin counselling. If you still have questions or concerns about whether you should, or whether you would benefit from, the counselling process, we invite you to come in and discuss whatever is on your mind.

What Can Counselling Help Me With?

Below are some indicative issues and important areas where you can be helped, restoring yourself to full functioning while discovering the meaning of your personal life:

The list above gives just a small idea of the kind of issues you may be facing, since every person is completely unique and the issue troubling you may not be listed here. Come and have an initial meeting with us, to help you open up and identify any thoughts and feelings that may be hindering your healthy mental functioning and your peace of mind.

How Long Does It Take Overall?

Because every person is unique, so is every therapeutic plan. The Counsellor creates personalised treatment plans, taking into account all relevant information for each case.

The duration of a course of counselling is therefore determined case by case and cannot be generalised. It depends on the particular characteristics of each individual case, the therapeutic goals, the approach (or combination of approaches) applied, and the client's response throughout the process. Generally, therapy can last from 6-7 months to 4-5 years. This, of course, does not mean the client cannot stop whenever they wish. Sessions last 50 minutes and are usually scheduled on a weekly basis (once a week).

Online Sessions

In order to help you when time, distance, or any other issue stands in the way, we offer online sessions via FaceTime, Google Meet, Viber and WhatsApp.

In every case, in-person presence and face-to-face contact is far better than an online session; however, with today's technology, we are able to conduct online sessions that research shows can have very positive therapeutic outcomes.

Online sessions also take place once a week and last 50 minutes. You can attend your session from the comfort of your home, office, car, or elsewhere, provided that you have ensured your privacy and confidentiality.
